He had been a first class fast-medium bowler for Rajasthan between 1955-56 and 1970-71. After he retired from playing, he was an active player in administration and has been the manager to several overseas tours.
Raj Singh Dungarpur had been the manager of Indian cricket team when it won the 1983 World Cup.
His last high-profile BCCI assignment was in 2006 when he was named the manager for the Indian cricket team’s tour of Pakistan.
He had been a part of the selection team which chose Sachin Tendulkar was for the Indian squad in 1989.
