According to Clarkstown police, a Rockland County man committed suicide tonight as he jumped from the fourth floor of Palisades Center. The police reported that the man who committed suicide was probably in his 20s.

Sgt. Brian Gorsky of Clarkstown police said it appears that the man jumped from the fourth floor inside of Palisades Center. The name of the man who jumped is not released by the police yet.

Gorsky also said that the Clarkstown police was present on the scene but person who jumped died on the spot so that the ambulance was canceled.

The body landed at the foot of an escalator on the bottom floor of the Palisades mall and the bottom floor has access to the garage parking.

Around the place where the body was landed, there was yellow police tape and the dead body was also covered by the police with a yellow tarp. The onlookers were told by the officers to keep moving.
